Happy Mother's Day!

First off, happy mother's day to all the moms out there! I woke up this morning to Nolan running in my room yelling, "Breakfast in bed Mommy!" He helped Jimmy make sausage and cheese biscuits with a side of Gerber Puffs for him to share. He was so proud! Nolan then went on to help clean the house for our grill out today.
He loves to vacuum...this was after he helped use the real vacuum.
My mother's day after that consisted of grilling out with with Jimmy, Nolan, my mom, sister, and Jimmy's dad. (Jimmy's mom was out of town and my dad wasn't feeling well.) We then ate delicious brownies and watched some golf. After Nolan's nap, we then had a fun filled day outside. Nolan helped walk Sophie Jo, drive his car, mow, and then blow bubbles.
Sophie Jo was napping while we watched golf. Apparently she was not impressed.
Nolan "drove" around the deck for a bit while Jimmy grilled. He insisted going in through the window.
"Happy Mommy's Day!"

Mowing while Jimmy was mowing the backyard.

Bubble time fun!

The wind chime Nolan got me...he loves it!
"Ding dong Mommy!"
Looking back, I can hardly believe that I have been a mom for 3 years.

The Makings Of A Great Birthday

Today is Jimmy's 30th birthday! It seems like just yesterday we were in high school English class and now we're married with a child. Although we are not doing anything "big" to celebrate, it's the little things that make a birthday perfect. Yesterday we made a cake and this morning Nolan helped make breakfast in bed for Jimmy. (A toasted bagel with cream cheese that he helped toast and spread the cream cheese.) Today we will have a family birthday lunch of rigatoni, salad, bread, and of course cake!

Yesterday Nolan helped make Jimmy's yellow birthday cake.
Adding the water to the cake mix.

Pouring in the oil.

Adding 3 eggs.

Getting ready to mix!

Mixing the cake batter together.

Mixing the cake batter all by himself-he loved it!

Helping stir.

Watching.

Checking out the pan with bakers spray.

Helping pour into the cake pan.

Ready to bake!

A birthday cake baked with love.

In the words of Nolan,  "Happy Birthday to you Daddy!"

Bubbles Bubbles

Bubbles bubbles are so fun....bubbles bubbles for everyone!

On a side note, Nolan has become quite the little talker and reader. One of his favorite books is "Bubbles, Bubbles" from the Sesame Beginnings collection at Target.  He loves to read the story every night and when I read, I pause and he can fill in the rhyming word. This series is great because it has Sesame Street, colorful pictures, and engaging language! I hope he continues to love reading as he gets older!

Wordless Wednesday

Happy May Day!
