24 Weeks

I feel like the first part of this pregnancy went so S-L-O-W (probably because I was extremely sick) and now it has started to pick up the pace a little bit. I also feel like due to life with a toddler that I am not focusing on every little aspect of the pregnancy like I did with Nolan. When I was pregnant with Nolan, I could tell you how many weeks and days I was pregnant. I took pictures every four weeks and documented the growing belly. With this pregnancy, I can't even remember how many weeks I am without looking at my pregnancy app on my phone. I have only taken maybe 4 pictures. I need to get on the ball so I have memories of being pregnant with this little one! (I also took/take a TON of pictures of Nolan...they say when baby number 2 comes you don't take nearly as many...I am hoping that is not true!)

How far along? 24 Weeks
How big is the baby? the size of an ear of corn
Total weight gain: No clue...at my last appointment I had gained 2 lbs but that is coming off of being down 13 lbs
Maternity clothes?  Some regular/some maternity
Sleep:  I have to now sleep on my side and I dislike it because I am a back sleeper.
Best moment this week: Nolan "kissing" my belly and him feeling the baby kick.
Miss Anything? Being able to bend down to pick something off the floor.
Movement:Yes
Food cravings: Anything sweet
Anything making you queasy or sick:Just random moments of nausea and vomiting daily. Still chewing my ginger gum. On a positive note, I have not worn my nausea bands for a few weeks!
Gender: A BOY!!!!! (We are so excited and thrilled...we thought it would be a girl so we were preparing for a girl even though we both wanted another boy.)
 Labor Signs:  nope
Symptoms:Tired, nausea
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: Exhausted
Looking forward to: The new year....it means Baby Wittenwyler 2 will soon be here!

33 Months

As 2013 draws to an end, I think back to what a wonderful year it has been and how fast Nolan is growing up. In just a few short months he will be a big brother and then off to preschool next year in the fall. Time needs to slow down!

At 33 months Nolan..

  • Weighs 29.5 lbs
  • Wears size 7 1/2 shoe and size 2T clothes
  • Took his first gummy vitamin today (we finally got him to eat fruit snacks this week, so now he can eat a vitamin!)
  • Is making progress with eating...slowly but surely.
  • Loves to bake and cook with us....if only he would eat the food!
  • Amazes us everyday with his vocabulary, complexity of sentences, and the understanding of the world around him. He makes connections and uses similes and metaphors. We still can't believe he is only 2!
  • Is beginning to build and read words. (Since he knows all his alphabet letters and sounds, I am able to put letters together and tell him just to say the sounds and blend the word.) He read at, cat, and dog tonight! He will try to put letters together, stretch out the sounds, and then say, "Mommy, that make a word??"
  • Went on a "movie date" to Frozen with us and loved it!
  • Enjoys playing in the snow-building snow castles, snowmen, and throwing snowballs.
  • Loves his bedroom and big boy bed. He stays in bed until 6:40 a.m. on weekdays and 7:30 on the weekends thanks to the Tot Clock!
  • Potty training-done. He wakes up dry from naps and overnights. Perhaps when we get a waterproof pad for his queen bed we will lose the diaper for good.
  • Favorite movies-Rio, Monsters Inc. and Sound of Music currently
  • Favorite phrase- "One more minute!"
  • Is very caring and affectionate. He loves to cuddle, asks often if I am feeling well, and likes to do things as a "family." When we were going to the movies he said, "We going as a family!"
  • Loves to sing and dance...all the time!
  • Continues to bring joy to our lives each day!
  •

A Lot To Be Thankful For

This past week was Thanksgiving and this year it seems we are thankful for many things.

1. Nolan
He is officially 32 months old and continues to amaze us everyday! We never know what he is going to say or do and he talks with such expression-it's so cute! Our life would not be the same without him and we can't wait to see him as a big brother.

Nolan....

  • Weighs 32lbs and is 38 inches tall
  • Wears size 2T clothes and size 7 shoe
  • Is potty trained (wears overnight diapers for naps/nighttime, but wakes up dry!!)
  • Is making progress towards eating food...he has eaten "apple chips," drank Hawaiian punch, and ate (licked) a banana. It seems as though is more willing to try things lately so hopefully this will continue.
  • Is obsessed with Monsters Inc. He loves Mike Wazowski and Randall. He has a Mike doll and is getting Randall and Monsters University for Christmas. The other day he told me, "Mike Wazowski has one eye! He's not supposed to have one eye....he's supposed to have two eyes!"
  • Has been talking in full sentences for many months. Some of the things he says often: "Where are my letters?" "It's dark outside. We need to take a nap. We can't play on my playset. We can't do bubbles. We can't go sledding." "Mommy, I want milk please."
  • Knows all his alphabet letters and their sounds...it's crazy!

  • Sleeps in his big boy bed and his in boy bedroom. It was a very easy transition from his old room/crib to his new room with his big boy bed. No issues at all!
  • Got a tot clock-we love it! He knows when the face is blue he has to sleep and when it is yellow he can call us to get up.
  • Loves to play his tablet and is obsessed with the alphabet and the solar system.
  • Is going to be a big brother!
  • Continues to bring joy to our lives each day!
2. Easy Transitions

We moved Nolan into his new bedroom with his big boy bed. We are grateful how easy it was and he loves it! He keeps saying, "I had fun in my big boy bed!" We did a sports theme and a room he can grow into. The bedding is Pottery Barn, but everything else is from Hobby Lobby, Homemakers, and KidCraft.

The ceiling fan has bats for blades, a baseball glove, and the ball is the light.

Bookshelf Jimmy made....we love it! It takes up no space and can hold a ton of books!(There are 65 currently.)

Locker nightstand and baseball glove ottoman.

3. A Healthy Baby

We had our ultrasound on Tuesday Nov. 26th and everything looks great! The baby is measuring right on track and is healthy. It was a little difficult to figure out the gender because the way the baby was laying, but we eventually were able to figure out the gender. We had a gender reveal party that night and it was a lot of fun! We didn't know if it was a girl or boy until we opened the box with our families.

We are SO EXCITED to have another boy. Jimmy and I were preparing in our minds for a girl because of how sick I have been with this pregnancy. (It has been 100% different than Nolan's.) We both really wanted another boy so that Nolan would have a brother and they would be close. We are BEYOND happy and can't wait to meet him next April!

4.  Family

We are so thankful for our families and love being able to spend time with them. We are fortunate to have  Aunt CeCe and both sets of our parents live so close that they are able to develop a relationship with Nolan. Here are just a few pics from this month.

Cars jammies with matching slippers.

Ready to trick or treat!

What did the train say to the doctor? A-choo A-choo!
Handing out candy with Daddy!
Celebrating Papa's birthday!

It was nice to see our cousins this month in Fort Dodge.
