33 Months

As 2013 draws to an end, I think back to what a wonderful year it has been and how fast Nolan is growing up. In just a few short months he will be a big brother and then off to preschool next year in the fall. Time needs to slow down!

At 33 months Nolan..

• Weighs 29.5 lbs
• Wears size 7 1/2 shoe and size 2T clothes
• Took his first gummy vitamin today (we finally got him to eat fruit snacks this week, so now he can eat a vitamin!)
• Is making progress with eating...slowly but surely.
• Loves to bake and cook with us....if only he would eat the food!
• Amazes us everyday with his vocabulary, complexity of sentences, and the understanding of the world around him. He makes connections and uses similes and metaphors. We still can't believe he is only 2!
• Is beginning to build and read words. (Since he knows all his alphabet letters and sounds, I am able to put letters together and tell him just to say the sounds and blend the word.) He read at, cat, and dog tonight! He will try to put letters together, stretch out the sounds, and then say, "Mommy, that make a word??"
• Went on a "movie date" to Frozen with us and loved it!
• Enjoys playing in the snow-building snow castles, snowmen, and throwing snowballs.
• Loves his bedroom and big boy bed. He stays in bed until 6:40 a.m. on weekdays and 7:30 on the weekends thanks to the Tot Clock!
• Potty training-done. He wakes up dry from naps and overnights. Perhaps when we get a waterproof pad for his queen bed we will lose the diaper for good.
• Favorite movies-Rio, Monsters Inc. and Sound of Music currently
• Favorite phrase- "One more minute!"
• Is very caring and affectionate. He loves to cuddle, asks often if I am feeling well, and likes to do things as a "family." When we were going to the movies he said, "We going as a family!"       
• Loves to sing and dance...all the time!
• Continues to bring joy to our lives each day!
