1 More Month!

One more month that is...until Brody turns 2! Where has the time gone!? I can't believe April is almost here and that we are planning for his 2nd birthday. Although I do miss the "baby" stage, I love each stage Brody goes through. Right now he is into repeating new words and trying to do a lot of this by himself.(Like unzip his coat, take off his socks, etc.) It is so fun to see things through the eyes of a toddler...even the littlest things make him laugh and giggle.

At 23 months Brody....

• Weighs around 24lbs
• Wears size 18-24 month clothes and size 5 shoes
• Still wears size 3 diapers
• Sleeps from 7:30 p.m.- 6:30 a.m. and takes a 2 hour afternoon nap
• Can say about 40 words and is improving in the speech department. His most recent words are dig, back, neck, door.
• Knows most of his colors and point to them when asked.
• Loves to read books and make animals sounds.
• Loves Mickey Mouse and Sofia the First
• Is good eater-good about trying new things, but his appetite is slowly reducing.
• Loves to vacuum, sweep the floor, and do the dishes.
• Enjoys helping us cook at the counter...he loves to stir things
• Carries Dog  around with him everywhere he goes
• Favorite songs-Get Your Head in the Game-from high school musical
• Loves to play outside and go for walks
• Continues to bring joy to our lives each day! 

Brody-22 Months

Well, the new year already seems to be going by so fast! This week Jimmy and I started to plan Nolan's 5TH birthday and Brody's 2nd birthday! It seems as if days seem to go by slow, but time goes by fast. As we move closer to Brody's 2nd birthday, he is starting to look more and more like a little toddler and less like a "big" baby. He is starting to make a lot of progress in the speech department and is always to copy his Nolan.

At 22 months Brody...

• Still wears size 3 diapers
• Wears size 5 shoe and size 18-24 month clothes
• Sleeps from 7:30 a.m. until we wake him at 6:40 a.m.
• Can say the beginning sounds of lots of words. He is making progress with his speech and his favorite words to say are: no, eat, up, more, dog, mama, da, Nol (Nolan) and mil (milk)
• Loves to eat meat!
• Carries his stuffed animals with him everywhere...to bed, to the basement, to our bedroom, to the living room, etc. His favorite stuffed animals are: dog,Spot, pig, and hippo
• Enjoys standing at the kitchen counter in his new tower standing thing...he loves to help and see what is going on!
• Loves to read books and his current favorites are:  Elmo Says,Where's Spot?, and Touch and Feel board books
• His favorite song: The ABC song..he likes to dance and try to sing along
• Loves to brush his teeth every morning and night...and will even let me help brush them.
• Loves play with his castle and  playing with his cars.
• Continues to bring joy to our lives each day!

Christmas 2015

Here are some special memories we made over Christmas break 2015.

21 Months-Brody

This past month has been very busy with winter vacation, Christmas, and New Years! We spent lots of time with family and enjoyed our time together. Brody and Nolan had a wonderful Christmas and got way too many toys! It was so much fun this year watching Brody's excitement as he opened his toys. He really enjoyed playing with his remote control cars, reading books, and eating chocolate!

At 21 months Brody..

• Weighs about 23.5 lbs
• Wears size 5 shoe and 18-24 month clothes
• STILL is in size 3 diapers
• Sleeps from 7:30p.m. to 6:30a.m. and takes a 2+ hour afternoon nap-he is such a good sleeper!
• LOVES to eat food-he will run to his highchair when it is time to eat. He will eat about anything and he loves to dip things in ketchup!
• Is learning new words and different sounds animals make. 
• Some words Brody can say- up, bye, down, hi, Mama, Dada, done, dog, more, p-ease for please. We are working on his name...he can say Bro and dy, but can't quite put it together.
• LOVES to read! He often will sit in his chair and just look at books.
• Has started sleeping with a blanket...he loves it!
• Continues to play well and can easily entertain himself
• Has started playing with puzzles and loves them.
• Loves to go "up and down" on the stairs
• Will run and sit in our seat when we get up-he giggles and thinks it's so funny!
• Loves music and loves to dance with us.
• When he wants our attention, he grabs our hands to take us where he wants us to go
• Continues to bring joy to our lives each day!

Brody-20 Months

This past month just flew by with fall fun and Thanksgiving! Brody and Nolan had a fun with their cousins from Texas (Jake, Ben, and Leighton)  and North Carolina- (Brian, Emma, Maddy, and Abby). We celebrated Leighton's baptism, went sledding, had a cousin sleep over complete with a bubble bath, and had fun sitting at the cousins table during Thanksgiving. We have a lot to be thankful for this year and can't believe that our little Brody is already 20 months!

*Takes an afternoon nap for 2-3 hours
*Loves to eat food-he tried lots of different foods at Thanksgiving. He also loves roast beef!
*Loves to walk up and down the stairs without help. He likes to hang onto the railing and does not want help.
*Is making some progress in the speech department-he is starting to repeat us and say a lot of beginning sounds of words.
*Continues to love music and loves to dance when it comes on.
*Loves stuffed animals-his favorites are his puppy and  Spot the dalmatian
*When he wants you for something he will come and grab your hand to take you where he wants you to go...it is so cute!
*Loves to run and hide. He wants you to find him and play hide and seek.
*Loves Nolan so much and gives him hugs and kisses all the time!
 *Continues to bring joy to our lives each day!
